The Vapir™ is an ambient aromatherapy vaporizer that can also be used for flavor delivery. It uses digitally controlled convection (hot air) to heat the herbs and thereby cause them to release their volatile elements without being burnt. When used properly it creates no smoke, only vapor.

2) How does the Vapir compare to other vaporizers?
The Vapir is the only true, fully portable, and fully self-contained vaporizer currently on the market. Several other so-called vaporizers use commercial grade soldering irons and mason jars in a futile attempt to vaporize herbal material. Exercise caution when looking into these units as quite often they are made with toxic commercial grade tools, oils, and glues which actually create more toxins than the units attempt to reduce by vaporizing the material. Only FDA-standard food grade glues and oils are used in the Vapir. It is the only vaporizer of its calibre, anywhere!

3) Does the Vapir produce smoke or a smoke taste?
No. When operated correctly the Vapir does not produce smoke. However, the Vapir is capable of producing very high temperatures that can burn the material if left on at high temperatures for long periods of time. When operated correctly, the flavor of herbs from the Vapir are more like steam than smoke. There is no smoke-like taste.

4) Is there second hand vapor?
No. There is no residual vapor like second hand smoke, however there is ambient aroma that may be released depending on your material, temperature, and various environmental factors. This is wonderful news for workers who can enjoy their tobacco right at their desk without bothering their officemates or leaving the building to smoke.

5) How long does it take for vapor to form?
Usually 2-5 minutes, although you can begin enjoying the aroma immediately. Actually, this is the best way. TIP: REMOVE THE HERB DISK DRAWER BEFORE PRE-HEATING THE UNIT. ONCE THE VAPIR REACHES THE DESIRED TEMPERATURE, INSERT THE DRAWER AND BEGIN TO ENJOY THE FLAVOR.

6) When vapor is produced by the Vapir, why does it come out of the side vents? Why isn’t it all captured in the top chamber? Is it being wasted? How can I prevent this?
The top chamber of the Vapir does capture some vapor, however its main function is to cool the vapor. Most of the flavor is meant to be captured by you when you inhale the vapor. This is much more efficient than capturing it in any size chamber. So long as you are inhaling the flavor of your material through the MatrixTM tube attachment, no vapor will escape through the vents. When you stop inhaling, the vapor will accumulate in the top chamber and also through the vents. You should begin to enjoy the flavor of your vapor immediately after the drawer is inserted into the unit. TIP: TO MINIMIZE WASTE, EJECT THE DRAWER ANY TIME YOU ARE NOT ENJOYING THE VAPOR. THIS IS A PATENTED FEATURE THAT IS ONLY FOUND IN THE VAPIR.

7) I cannot see any vapor forming. What am I doing wrong? Does visible vapor always form?
Visible vapor is not always present. Visible vapor will form depending on several factors:
a) The amount of actives in your material.
b) The moisture or oils in your material.
c) The quality of your materials.
d) Ambient temperature and humidity.
e) Vaporization temperature.
f) The degree to which your herbs are ground.
g) The degree to which you have filled the herb disk.

Grind your herbs in a coffee grinder or an herb grinder first. We offer an excellent herb grinder known as the Max, available through our accessories page. By grinding your herbs, it will help aerate them and allow hot air to pass through them more evenly. With the drawer ejected, you should preheat your Vapir to at least 250 F. Once the orange LED light has turned green, insert the drive and immediately begin to inhale the flavor. Vapor will normally (but not always) form about 5-10 minutes after you have inserted the drive. For a stronger vapor, increase the temperature by increments of 5° F until the desired vapor density is reached.

NOTE: VISIBLE VAPOR WILL NOT ALWAYS BE PRESENT. VAPOR IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM SMOKE. EVEN IN THE ABSENCE OF VISIBLE VAPOR THE UNIT IS STILL EMITTING POTENT VAPORS. THE VAPOR EMITTED AFTER YOU FIRST INSERT YOUR DRIVE IS SOME OF THE MOST FLAVORFUL AND MOST BENEFICIAL VAPOR IN YOUR ENTIRE SESSION, REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT IT MAY BE MOSTLY INVISIBLE.

8) How do I know when the material in the herb disk is done?
When the flavor completely subsides, the disk should be re-filled with fresh material.

9) What is the capacity of the herb disks?
1-3 grams, depending on your material density.

10) Are the herb disks re-useable? How many come with the unit? How long do they last?
Yes, they are re-useable. 2 herb disks are included. An additional 6-pack costs $19.99US, and an additional 12-pack costs $29.99US. We strongly suggest that you purchase extra herb disks with your order. There is no additional shipping and handling for this item when shipped with your order. How long they last depends on your usage and how often you clean them. When properly cared for, your disks may last indefinitely.

11) How long does it take to heat the Vapir?
The first time you use your unit in each session it will take 3-5 minutes. Thereafter it will only take 1-2 minutes.

12) What is the temperature range of the Vapir?
0°- 400° Fahrenheit.

13) Does the Vapir read in both Celsius and Fahrenheit?
Yes. All Vapirs feature both settings.

14) What type of heating element do you use?
The Vapir utilizes a state-of-the-art ceramic heating element that uses far-infrared technology to heat your herbs. Unlike other products such as heat guns, there is no metal heating element in contact with the herbs.

15) At what temperature should I vaporize my particular herbs?
350° Fahrenheit is a good guideline for most aromatic green herbs such as tobacco and mint. This is the simplest approach and we suggest all new users stay within these guidelines.

With vaporization there are two schools of thought:

The first says that you can vaporize something at a high temperature such as 400° for a short period of time. The benefit of this system is that you get a burst of vapor very quickly, however the downside is that you produce more byproducts and essentially “cook” your materials more than necessary. This process creates vapor that is much closer to smoke than pure vapor.

The second school of thought advocates vaporizing at lower temperatures such as 330°-350° Fahrenheit for longer periods of time. At Vapir, Inc we find this system to be the most efficient and effective. The only downside is that this requires more patience, as the process requires more time, and slightly prolongs the experience of enjoying the flavor and aroma of your herbs. With this method your material lasts longer, the flavor and consistency of the vapor are much cleaner, and it is possible that you will get little or no byproducts such as smoke. This is true vaporization and we suggest that everyone use this second system. The Vapir™ however, is suited for both uses.

16) Does the Vapir have a fan or a blower?
Yes, there is an ultra-quiet and super efficient blower fan.

17) How durable are your products?
All of our products are made to strict ISO 9002 and GMP quality manufacturing standards. The Vapir uses only the finest parts and its body is made from a highly heat-resistant and impact-resistant plastic. We do not recommend dropping the unit or abusing it in any way as doing so will void the warranty.

18) What are the dimensions of the Vapir?
All Vapir Vaporizers are forced air vaporizers, except the Oxygen. This means that all of our vaporizers are out-fitted with ultra-quiet and super efficient fans or blowers, except the Oxygen.

19) What's the difference between the black, white and various colors?
The black models are re-chargeable and include a battery and built-in charger. The white, blue, and green models are corded and do not include a battery or built-in charger.

20) What is the difference between the different colored handles?
The Vapir Digital Air comes with various-colored comfort grips. We offer Forest Green, Lime Green, Orange, and Blue. These colors are an aesthetic enhancement to your unit and there is no functional difference between them.

21) What is the difference between the corded and the re-chargeable?
Both models are easily portable, built to the same quality specifications, and compatible with the world adaptor. The difference lies in the power source. The black models run on a re-chargeable lithium ion battery, while the others are corded models and must be plugged into an outlet. The black, re-chargeable units are about $100US more than the corded and include both a battery and a built-in charger.

22) Can I use the Vapir outside of the USA operating on a different voltage?
The Original Corded and Cordless Vapirs come with a world wide voltage adaptor, which can be easily used in any country. The Vapir ONE, Vapormatic Deluxe and Oxygen Vaporizers do not come with a voltage adaptor (in other words the products are designed to work on specific 110 US, 220 EU or 240 UK voltages). You would need to purchase a voltage adaptor to use these outside of their specified voltage, failing to do so will void any warranty.

23) Can I use the re-chargeable model with a power adaptor and no battery?
Yes. The re-chargeable models can also function as corded models. Also, batteries are easily replaceable.

24) Can I buy internal batteries for the corded model? Can the corded unit be upgraded to be re-chargeable?
No. However, a battery backpack that connects to the AC plug in your corded unit will be available in 2008. This pack will retail for about $299.99US and will be capable of powering either the corded or re-chargeable unit for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

25) Can I buy internal batteries for the re-chargeable model?
Yes. The battery is available on the accessories page of our web site.

26) How long do the internal batteries last?
The Vapir Digital Air uses one of the highest capacity lithium ion batteries in the world. A single charge allows the internal batteries to power the unit for 20-25 minutes, depending on the temperature. This extremely efficient battery will power as many as 300 full charges without losing more than 25% of its charging capacity. The exact number of charges will vary depending on environmental conditions.

27) What is the blue laser light at the top for?
It helps to see the vapor in low light conditions and allows for a cool effect in the dark.

28) Is it easy to clean?
Yes. The top twists off for easy cleaning.

29) Can I use the Vapir in a car?
Yes. An optional 12-volt power adaptor is available for $49.99 US.

30) What is the USB feature for?
The USB port at the base of the unit is an upgrade that is currently not available on consumer models. The main purpose of the USB feature is for Holistic and Medical practitioners to download data from the device and upload data from the World Wide Web or their PC into the Vapir to monitor their vapor intake for medicinal applications.
